On 21 September 2022, and under the title “Algeria declares organizing amicable world cup and Tindouf will be the hosting place”, Info Sport website published an article stating that the social media spread a piece of news confirming that Algeria will organize a small world cup at the end of 2022 based on the fact that Algeria will not participate in Qatar world cup. The same sources confirmed that, states which have not been participating in the world cup Qatar will participate in the Algerian amicable world cup. However, Algerian Football Federation confirmed that such piece of news is a mere lie.
